Buddha Purnima: The day commemorate the birth of Lord Buddha, which is observed on the month of Vaishakha in Hindu Calendar. A large fair is held at Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Devotees perform prayers and worship on this day and donates money or food to the needy as well as to the monks. 

Independence Day: Independence Day, a national holiday in India, commemorates the independence of India from the UK. The freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for the country shall be remembered on this day. Schools, colleges and government offices across the state of Arunachal Pradesh will remain closed. Delhi holds special celebrations.

Dussehra: Dussehra or Dasara or Dusshera is a prime festival for the Hindus in Arunachal Pradesh and is celebrated in a different way. Guru Nanak Jayanti ic celebrated on the month of October or November of Gregorian calendar. Akhand Path, Nagarkitan, and Langar are organised to honour the life and teachings of Guru Nanak.

The Christians residing across the state of Arunachal Pradesh will perform special church services, sing Christian songs, interchange the festival wishes, and party.
