News about Telangana Holidays

Telangana Announces Eid, Shab-e-Qadr Holidays for 2026

The Telangana government has announced holidays for Shab-e-Qadr, Jumatul-Vida, and Eid-ul-Fitr in 2026 as per the official state calendar. Jumatul-Vida will be observed on 13th March and Shab-e-Qadr on 17th March, and both days have been declared optional holidays for government employees. The government has also announced general holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr on 21st and 22nd March. However, the exact date of Eid will depend on the sighting of the crescent moon. If the moon is seen on 19th March, then Eid will be celebrated on 20th March. But if the moon is not seen that day, Eid will be celebrated on 21st March. Because of this, the Eid holiday dates may change. Officials said that the optional holidays for Jumatul-Vida and Shab-e-Qadr will not change. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Sadar Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Deccan will meet on 19th March to confirm the date of Eid-ul-Fitr after checking the moon sighting.
